We’re proud to announce that Shepherd has expanded its capabilities to include non-admitted primary GL casualty offerings on a countrywide basis, effective immediately. This important update means that Shepherd can provide support for project opportunities and contractor practice programs in states like CA, TX, FL, and others.
Where will these non-admitted products be available?
Shepherd will have the ability to support primary GL in all 50 states (except NY).
What paper will these products be written on?
As is the case with our Excess Program, these new CGL policies will be written on StarStone Speciality Insurance Company paper (A-, XII).
Is there any change to Shepherd’s core appetite with these new offerings?
No, this expansion simply accelerates our ability to support risks in states like CA, FL, or TX
Is Shepherd continuing to file for admitted primary lines?
Yes! In fact, we're already live with admitted offerings in 25 states as of December 2023. Please contact your underwriter for state specific inquiries.
Can Shepherd support NYC primary on a non-admitted basis?
Unfortunately, we are not currently a market for true New York City risks. That being said, we may be able to support clients with ancillary NY exposure.
