Building for the Renewable Energy & Power Boom: Introducing Shepherd's RE&P Partner Advisory Board
At the beginning of last year, we brought together our first Partner Advisory Board, a group of construction practice leaders at our top brokerage partners who agreed to build with us by helping to shape our strategic direction, and to tell us the truth about our products, our appetite, and what it is actually like to work with Shepherd. It remains one of the best decisions we have ever made. So as we scale our Renewable Energy & Power (RE&P) vertical, we did the obvious thing: today we are excited to introduce Shepherd's RE&P Partner Advisory Board.
Just a couple weeks ago we held our Advisory Board kick off meeting where we discussed how Shepherd has gotten to where it is today, along with what we expect our future to look like. More importantly, we fostered an honest discussion amongst the group about how Shepherd’s RE&P launch has landed in the market, the future of the RE&P market, and what Shepherd should be doing to meet the growth ambitions we have for this vertical and best serve our partners.
These broker leaders will meet with our leadership and underwriting teams to pressure-test our approach, roadmap, and strategy: where our appetite is right and where it is too narrow, what coverage energy clients need that the market is not serving well, how our service can continue to exceed expectations, and what our next offerings and innovations should be. Importantly, they will also hold us to acting on it.

Meet the Shepherd RE&P Partner Advisory Board
Korrie Bauer, Senior Vice President and Client Advisor, Marsh Energy & Power Practice. Korrie is a Client Advisor in New York within the casualty unit of Marsh's Energy and Power Practice, where she leads the marketing, renewal, and retention of liability programs for energy and power clients. She joined Marsh in 2021 with eight years of New York brokerage and carrier experience, including underwriting at Chubb and account management at Arthur J. Gallagher. She holds a New York property and casualty broker license and a B.S. in Risk Management and Insurance from St. John's University.
Liam Blodgett, CAC. Liam has 14 years in property and casualty, the last 12 focused on energy. He spent time on the underwriting side at Liberty Mutual and Chubb, most recently as Chubb's US Power and Renewables leader, before moving to CAC in 2026. He knows how energy risk looks from the carrier's viewpoint, which makes his read on our underwriting especially useful.
Jenny Conil, Senior Vice President and Power Sector Casualty Broking Leader, Lockton. Jenny has more than 20 years of commercial brokerage experience specializing in the placement and servicing of energy and power casualty programs. She joined Lockton in 2026. Before her insurance career, she served four years of active duty in the United States Marine Corps.
Dan DeVito, Senior Vice President, McGriff, a Marsh McLennan Agency Company. Dan is a marketing account executive on McGriff's energy team with ten years supporting the power generation sector. His focus is independent power producers across the United States, which puts him close to a segment central to Shepherd's RE&P business.
Alex Forand, North American Power and Renewables Leader, WTW. Alex brings 10 years across renewables, traditional energy, and multinational underwriting, on both the carrier and broking sides, with a balanced view of property and casualty. He leads a team of more than 20 power and renewables specialists. He brings a background in meteorology to the way he thinks about power generation and renewables risk.
Charlie Long, Senior Vice President, Alliant Power Group (Energy and Marine). Charlie is one of the renewable energy sector's leading insurance and risk authorities, with more than 37 years of experience. He focuses on renewable energy independent power producers and clean technology companies, serving clients from startups to multi-billion-dollar asset owners, and he was named a Power Broker for Renewable Energy by Risk and Insurance.
Paul Martelloni, Senior Casualty Specialist, Global Power Practice, Aon. Paul has 38 years in the industry across property and casualty claims, casualty risk management underwriting, and casualty broking, with 22 of those years serving energy, power, utility, and chemical clients. He places primary and excess casualty for power and utility clients and specializes in large primary casualty, excess workers compensation, and large layered excess casualty towers. Before Aon he was a senior vice president and casualty manager in Marsh's Energy and Power group.
